This FAQ explains why PropertyBoss may briefly resize or flash when returning to the program from the taskbar after it has been minimized.
Why does PropertyBoss flash or resize after I minimize it?
PropertyBoss may briefly resize and flash when you reopen it from the taskbar because of how the updated window handles screen sizing and display detection. The system is readjusting the application window when it returns to view.
Is this a PropertyBoss issue?
This behavior is tied to the way the RDP Client manages the PropertyBoss screen size. Because of that limitation, PropertyBoss cannot fully resolve the flashing or resize delay from within the application.
How long should the resizing or flashing last?
The adjustment typically lasts between 0.5 and 3 seconds. During that time, the PropertyBoss window may appear to flicker, flash, or resize before stabilizing.
What should the expected behavior be?
PropertyBoss should ideally reopen at the same size it was when minimized. Resizing should only occur when the application is moved to a different display or monitor.
Can Client Care stop this from happening?
No. Client Care is unable to correct this behavior because it is caused by a limitation of the RDP Client. While we understand the flashing can be frustrating, there is not a PropertyBoss setting that will prevent it from occurring.
Can I stop this from happening?
The best workaround is to keep PropertyBoss open on your desktop instead of minimizing it. You can open other windows over PropertyBoss, minimize those programs, or move them out of the way without causing PropertyBoss to resize. Keeping PropertyBoss open helps avoid the screen detection process that can cause the brief flashing or resizing when the application is restored.
Do I need to report this every time it happens?
No. If PropertyBoss returns to normal after a brief delay, no further action is needed. If the program does not stabilize, becomes unusable, or displays a separate error message, please contact Client Care with details about what occurred.
