Understanding ePremium with PropertyBoss

ePremium is a renters insurance and insurance management solution that can be used with PropertyBoss to help communities offer insurance options, collect proof of coverage, and review insurance-related information. This article explains the general purpose of ePremium and how it works alongside PropertyBoss.

Note: When ePremium is available for your community, PropertyBoss helps provide access to the ePremium experience. ePremium remains the system used for insurance enrollment, proof of coverage, policy review, and insurance-related status details.

What Is ePremium?

ePremium provides renters insurance services for participating rental communities. Depending on your community’s agreement with ePremium, residents may be able to enroll in a renters insurance policy or submit proof of insurance from another provider.

  • Renters insurance enrollment options for residents
  • Proof of coverage submission for residents who use another insurance provider
  • Insurance tracking and review tools through ePremium
  • Support for communities that require renters insurance as part of their leasing process

How ePremium Works with PropertyBoss

PropertyBoss and ePremium each have a separate role. PropertyBoss helps connect the resident, lease, or property record to the appropriate ePremium experience. ePremium manages the insurance portion of the process.

In most cases, PropertyBoss is used as the starting point, while ePremium is where the insurance enrollment, proof of coverage, and policy review activity takes place.

  • Residents may be directed from PropertyBoss to ePremium to enroll in renters insurance.
  • Residents may use ePremium to submit proof of insurance from another provider.
  • Property staff may use ePremium tools to review insurance-related activity.
  • Insurance policy details, approvals, rejections, and coverage questions are handled through ePremium.

What Clients Should Know

Clients should expect the ePremium process to involve both systems. PropertyBoss provides access points and helps connect the user to the correct place. ePremium provides the insurance tools and information used to manage enrollment, proof of coverage, and policy status.

Resident Experience

  • Residents may see insurance-related options in the Resident Portal when the feature is available for their property.
  • Residents can follow the available link or prompt to continue to ePremium.
  • Residents may enroll in renters insurance through ePremium.
  • Residents who already have outside coverage may be able to submit proof of insurance through ePremium.

Property Staff Experience

  • Staff may have links or options in PropertyBoss that open ePremium insurance information.
  • Staff can use ePremium resources to review policy status, resident enrollment, and proof of coverage details.
  • PropertyBoss does not replace ePremium’s insurance management tools. It helps staff get to the appropriate ePremium resource from the related PropertyBoss record.

Support Boundaries

  • PropertyBoss Client Care can help with questions about whether the ePremium option is visible or accessible from PropertyBoss.
  • Questions about insurance coverage, policy requirements, approvals, rejections, or proof of coverage review should be directed to ePremium.
  • Feature availability may depend on your agreement with ePremium and whether the property is participating in the program.
