How to Set Another Screen as Your Default Monitor
If you have multiple monitors connected and want to choose which one is your main (default) screen, follow the steps below:
Windows 10 & Windows 11
- Right‑click anywhere on your desktop
A small menu will appear. - Click Display settings.
- You will see boxes labeled 1, 2, (and possibly 3).
These represent your connected screens. - Click the monitor you want to make your default.
The selected monitor will be highlighted. - Scroll down and check the box that says:
“Make this my main display.” - Your taskbar and desktop icons will move to the new default screen.
If you don’t see the option
- Make sure the monitor is powered on.
- Check that the display cable is firmly connected.
- Click Detect in Display Settings if Windows isn’t seeing the screen.
