The following FAQs focus on Phase 2 features of PropertyBoss Online. In Phase 2, all users are given access to launching the PropertyBoss Hosted RDP program from PB Online. Media uploads and printing are run through PB Online as well. 


During the rollout period, all users will have a limited amount of time to use both the PropertyBoss Host website (https://propertyhost.propertyboss.net/PropertyHost/) and PB Online (https://online.propertyboss.net/) to log in to PropertyBoss. Once the PropertyHost website is retired, all users must log in to PropertyBoss through PB Online (https://online.propertyboss.net/).

Is PB Online still limited to beta users? Who has access to PB Online?

  • All PropertyBoss users can login to PB Online, with the correct permission settings. 


How do I log in to PB Online?


Why am I seeing "PropertyBoss Hosted RDP" all of a sudden?

  • You’re now seeing “PropertyBoss Hosted RDP” so it’s easier to tell the difference between our two online access options: PropertyBoss Hosted and PB Online.
  • PropertyBoss Hosted has always used an RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) connection. We avoided using that technical term before to keep things simple. Now that PB Online (a fully web-based platform) is also available, we’ve added “RDP” to make it clear which program you’re accessing.

What's the difference between PropertyBoss Hosted RDP and PB Online?

  • PropertyBoss requires a remote desktop protocol (RDP) connection to launch the program. It is not 100% hosted online because you need an application installed on your computer to open PropertyBoss. PropertyBoss cannot be used on certain devices, especially mobile devices, because of the required software. 
  • PB Online is a 100% web-based program. It is accessible on any device with an internet connection.
  • To differentiate between the two, because both will be active at the same time, we are using the terminology PropertyBoss Hosted (RDP connection) and PB Online (web-based).


Can I use PropertyBoss on a phone or tablet?

  • Not yet. PropertyBoss still requires a client download that isn’t compatible with mobile devices. While we’re working toward a more mobile-friendly solution, for now, PropertyBoss remains a Windows-based platform that must be accessed on a SurfacePro, desktop, or laptop computer.


What is the difference between PB Online and PropertyHost?

  • The PropertyHost website - https://propertyhost.propertyboss.net - allows users to launch the PropertyBoss software. It also houses several administrative features that are necessary for user and message management. All PropertyHost functionality is moving to PB Online. 


Will PropertyBoss continue work?

  • Yes! PropertyBoss will continue operating as usual. It’s not going anywhere. In the future, some tasks will be available in both PB Online and PropertyBoss, but those changes are will occur in the future. 


Is PB Online the new PropertyBoss?

  • Not quite. PB Online is not replacing PropertyBoss. While it introduces a new login experience, its current functionality is still limited.


Is there a preferred browser to view PB Online?

  • PB Online will work best with Chrome and Edge but there are no limitations when it comes to browsers. 


Why can't I login to PB Online? 

  • PB Online is for all staff members. Tenants and owners do not have access to PB Online.
  • Access is controlled in PropertyBoss under Setup Preferences. A user with admin access can grant PB Online permission to another user. See this article for instructions on how to give users access to PB Online. 


Can I use PB Online on a phone or tablet?

  • PB Online is a 100% web-based program. It is accessible on any device with an internet connection.You cannot launch PropertyBoss on a phone or tablet, but you can use the other features of PB Online on a mobile device.


  • This change does not affect portal links.You do not need to update your company’s website. The retirement of PropertyHost has no impact on PropertyBoss portals, as the two systems are completely separate.


I am not a tech person. How do I make sure my users can login to PB Online? -OR- 

I am an administrator user, but I do not know how to help my other users with PB Online access.

  • There is one permission setting that a user needs so they have access to PB Online. See the User Setup Guide for further instructions. 


Do I have to use PB Online?

  • Yes, all users will log in through PB Online to access PropertyBoss. You don’t need to use any of PB Online’s other features unless they’re helpful to your operations.


Who has access to PB Online? 

PB Online access is for staff members. Access is controlled in PropertyBoss Hosted under Setup Preferences. A user with admin access can grant PB Online permission to another user. See this article for instructions on how to give users access to PB Online. 


Will my tenants, owners, or members be impacted by this change? 

No. This is an internal "staff only" site.


Does PB Online replace PropertyBoss?

No and yes. Right now, PB Online is a supplemental, web-based tool, that you can use for basic data research, portal password resets, and accessing applications. Eventually, this online version will become PropertyBoss. PropertyBoss Hosted will be retired. Until ALL functionality of PropertyBoss Hosted is moved to PB Online, you will utilize both programs.


Will PropertyBoss as I know it continue work?

PropertyBoss will work as normal for the foreseeable future. PB Online is the foundation of PropertyBoss moving to 100% online.


How do I screen my applicants in PB Online?

The screening component has not been added to PB Online yet. You can see your applicants under the "Prosepct" tab but actions such as emailing, screening, moving in, etc... still occur in PropertyBoss Hosted.


How do post payments in PB Online?

Collecting payments has not been added to PB Online yet. That still occurs in PropertyBoss Hosted.
